What is OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)?

A technique of scanning the retina at the back of the eye, in particular at the optic nerve and macula. This gives a view below the surface of the retina, providing a more complete record of the health of the eye, and it can detect the early signs of eye conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration before other eye examination techniques.

It takes only a few minutes to perform, and is comfortable and easy to do.

I recommend this scan to anyone aged over 40, and particularly if you have a personal or family history of glaucoma or macular problems.
